The Core Balance Current Transformer (CBCT), also known as a Zero sequence CT, is used for earth leakage and earth fault protection. In CBCT, the three-core cable or three single cores of a three phase system pass through the inner diameter of the CT. When the system is fault free, no current flows in the secondary of the CBCT. When there is an earth fault, the residual current (Zero Phase sequence current) of the system flows through the secondary of the CBCT and this operates the relay setting.

High voltage test sets are available from 5kv to 75kv voltage range. The sets operate from a supply of 230v, single phase, 50HzAC. The sets are designed with all important features of high voltage testers. For more than 5kv, the set is supplied in two separate parts.

Oil test sets are available for 0-60kv & 0-100kv voltage range in manual motorized with stirrer timer versions. The test sets operate from supply of 230v, single phase,50Hz, A.C. The sets are designed for testing of dielectric 7strength of insulating oils.

The field-testing and calibration of solid-state trip units can be performed by either primary current injection method or secondary current injection method. Current injection testing is generally associated with high current and high voltage power distribution systems in electricity substations or in a large industrial installations. By injecting a predetermined current into the circuit breaker, it is possible to determine whether the relay will trip at this current and, if so, how long the current needs to flow before the trip is initiated. Primary current injection testing is an invaluable aid to fault-finding.
